This fish is one of my most fun pieces.
Made out of brown paper bags, cardboard,
wire, glue, and beads with egg carton scales,
 painted with acrylics.
The piece was experimental, not meant
to be archival. So if I made another one
(the design always being different---see
the catfish), I would use better materials.
But it's so coated with many layers of
acrylic paint it's almost waterproof, and
he just bounces if dropped. Very resilient.
I made a cardboard form, then added
things to the form. The wings are wire glued
between layers of brown paper. The wire
lets you bend them to any position you want.
Same goes for the fins. What looks like
little rivets are drops of glue.
